Thank you so much for your interest in Montclare Children’s School! Having been a teacher at Montclare for 10 years, Montclare feels like a second home to me as it does to our staff and our families. Montclare is a vital and diverse community and we welcome you to visit and learn more about us. Our website provides much information regarding our admissions process as well as all of the wonderful programs we offer, however, we always welcome your questions.
With Preschool Programs for 2-5 year olds, as well as a Toddler Program for children 12-24 months, we enjoy watching children toddle in, unsteady on their feet, to graduate from Montclare confident, independent learners, ready to thrive in Kindergarten. When that time comes, Mimi Dupuis, our Director of Exmissions, works exclusively with our families, expertly supporting them through the Kindergarten application process. Our experienced teachers and administrators create an enriched and fun learning environment, instilling in our students a love for school and learning which they carry with them onward through the years. We know this to be true as the parents of Montclare alumni often stay in touch and come back to visit with our graduates!
Montclare’s historic building and expansive facility allow us to engage in every aspect of a child’s development. Our outdoor rooftop space and two gyms, one featuring a climbing wall and the other Imagination Playground blocks encourage children to develop their gross motor abilities as well as other important developmental benchmarks. Our enriched program which includes Art Studio, Library, Music, Movement, Yoga, PE and Gymnastics in addition to classroom activities, stimulates children intellectually, socially and emotionally.

Our online application for the 2017-2018 school year is available HERE. Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received.
January 2s applications will be available to download here on June 9th for new families. Sibling applicants can apply beginning on June 1st.
Please note, if you are applying for Financial Aid and/or you are a current/past Montclare family or you are applying for more than one child (twins, etc), please select the option: “Application for Financial Aid Applicants and/or Montclare Sibling Applicants.” Otherwise, please select: “Application.”

Open House/Information Sessions will be held throughout the Fall for parents to learn more about our program, meet our Administrative Staff as well as current parents. Open Houses are not mandatory and do not require an application for you to attend. You can sign up online to attend our Open Houses.
Touring The School
Once you submit an application you will receive an email invitation to schedule an individual tour. We will contact families starting September 6th to set up a tour appointment. Tours, for parents only, are required and are held throughout the week, lasting approximately 45 minutes from September – January.
After applying, you will be contacted by email to schedule a small group play session in January. Children are invited to attend a play session to ensure that they are ready to begin school. Play Sessions are scheduled to be held on Friday, January 13th and Saturday, January 21st. Alternate Play Session dates to be scheduled on an as needed basis.
Montclare Children’s School follows the ISAAGNY notification schedule. Applicants will be notified on March 1, 2017.
Montclare Children’s School has a very strong sibling policy. Sibling families can chose to receive Early Notification beginning on December 5th, 2016. Families that chose to not opt-in for Early Notification, will be notified on March 1st, 2017.
