Welcome to Montclare Mission Statement ![]()
The long-range goals of Montclare Children's School are the positive growth of the whole child; the development of abilities, interests, attitudes and values that will continue to evolve over a lifetime; and the preparation of children for the transition to kindergarten. We support these goals by providing a stimulating preschool learning environment that encourages cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth.
Montclare Children's School Philosophy* Our Preschool should provide a warm and secure environment for children, parents and staff. * The whole child develops best in a non-competitive atmosphere of caring, respect and mutuality. * Optimum development occurs when children are actively engaged in experimenting and exploring in a challenging and stimulating educational and social environment. * Children develop the skills needed for future academic success in an enriched learning environment. * Play is an important method to help children understand and come to terms with the world. * Children profit from preschool activities directed by adults as well as benefiting from time for privacy and quiet. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere that: * Creates a sense of community * Encourages participation * Is organized so that children can function independently and confidently with ease and comfort * Offers room for individual and group activities Montclare Children's School, located in New York City, is a member of the Association of Teachers of Independent Schools, the Parent's League of New York, and the Educational Records Bureau. |
